Mid-season friendly at home to Clitheroe this Saturday 19th December

Following the announcement by the Northern Premier League that a full programme of league fixtures will resume on Saturday 26th December, FC United has arranged a mid-season friendly against Clitheroe FC on Saturday 19th December with a 3pm kick-off at Broadhurst Park.

Our match at Clitheroe back in August was a first opportunity for the majority of our supporters to see the team play this season after the initial lockdown and they are once again our opponents as we emerge from lockdown 2. Having played out a feisty 2-2 pre-season draw at Shawbridge, this fixture will provide Neil Reynold’s squad with a competitive test following six weeks out from football before we resume our league campaign.

It will be a pleasure to welcome supporters back into Broadhurst Park but we must be mindful that we are currently situated in a Tier 3 zone and our capacity will be set at 300 for this fixture.

Match day arrangements:
There will be significant changes to match day arrangements due to the Covid-19 pandemic so please read them carefully, even if you are a regular at Broadhurst Park.

Tickets are priced as follows:

  • £9 Adults
  • £5 Concessions
  • £2 under-18s
  • Under-5s free but must be registered for a ticket

Ticket sales:

Away supporters: following discussions with Clitheroe and with both clubs currently in separate Tier 3 zones it has been agreed that Clitheroe will not take an away allocation of tickets for this match. We apologise to away fans and look forward to the opportunity to welcome you to Broadhurst Park in future happier times.

Thursday 17th December – from 7pm: online sales will commence to current season FC United members with 285 tickets available.

Friday 18th December – from 10am: 15 tickets will be available to current season members who may not have internet access on a first come, first served basis from the Broadhurst Park reception with one ticket available per membership and a maximum of two tickets per order.

Friday 18th December from 10.30am until at 4pm or when sold out: any remaining tickets available will go on general sale online.

Should tickets remain, a further announcement will be made on Friday evening regarding potential availability to purchase general sale tickets by phone or at the ground on Saturday.

For track and trace purposes we will require the name and contact number of all who have a ticket for this match which will be a condition of entry into the stadium.

All online purchased tickets will be collected on the day of the game with none posted out. Supporters should bring their confirmation email and ID in case of any issues and collect match tickets from the cabin situated at the Lightbowne Road entrance to the car park before proceeding to the turnstiles. The ticket office will open at 1.30pm

Turnstiles 1 will open at 1.45pm.

There is alot going on at the ground in the morning, we would be grateful if people did not arrive before the ticket office opens.

Food & Beverage availability in the ground:
Following today’s announcement that Broadhurst Park will remain in a Tier 3 Covid restriction zone, we can confirm there will be no food or beverage available within the ground.

Covid Travel Restrictions:
You must not travel if you are experiencing any coronavirus symptoms, are self-isolating as a result of coronavirus symptoms, are sharing a household or support bubble with somebody with symptoms, or have been told to self-isolate after being contacted by NHS Test and Trace.

Broadhurst Park is currently situated in a Covid Tier 3 zone.

Supporters living outside of the Greater Manchester Tier 3 zone should be mindful that government advice is that you should not travel to watch the game.

Advice for those living in Tier 1 or 2 is that: ‘Avoid travel to or overnight stays in Tier 3 areas other than where necessary’.

Those supporters living in Tier 3 zones outside of Greater Manchester should note that government advice is that: ‘In a Tier 3, you should avoid travelling outside of your area’.

The FA has released the following instructions for spectators attending a match in Tier 3: ‘It is extremely important that spectators remain in their household or social bubble in groups of six, do not mix with any other spectator groups, or travel between Tiers to attend fixtures, as enforceable by law. If breaches of spectator limits or social distancing are reported, clubs and leagues may face returning to fixtures being held behind closed doors.’
